3 Must-Visit Cherry Blossom Spots in Tokyo
Tokyo is home to numerous iconic cherry blossom spots. Here, we introduce three of the most popular locations where you can fully experience the beauty of spring. With events and illuminations scheduled, this year’s cherry blossom season is not to be missed!
1. Meguro River – 800 Cherry Trees Lining Both Sides of the River
Flowing through central Tokyo, Meguro River stretches about 8 kilometers, passing through Setagaya, Meguro, and Shinagawa wards before reaching Tokyo Bay. Despite being in the heart of the city, it's known as a relaxing spot where visitors can enjoy nature throughout the year.
In the Meguro area, from Ikejiri-Ohashi Station to Nakameguro Station, around 800 Somei-Yoshino cherry trees line the riverbanks for about 4 kilometers. Near Nakameguro, the cherry trees arch over the river, creating a breathtaking tunnel of blossoms—a perfect photo opportunity.
